Terms of Service
Last updated: 24 July 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and MindLake (“we”, “us”), operated from the United Kingdom, covering the MindLake apps and the publishing service at mindlake.app. By using either, you agree to them. MindLake is in early access: features may change or break while we build toward launch.
Your content
You own your notes. Content you create in the app stays on your device and in your own iCloud; we make no claim to it. When you publish a note, you grant us a limited licence to host, reproduce and display it at its public address, solely to operate the service. The licence ends when you unpublish the note. You are responsible for what you publish.
Recording responsibly
MindLake records and transcribes meetings on your device. Laws on recording conversations differ between countries and, in some places, require the consent of everyone being recorded. You are solely responsible for complying with the laws that apply to you and for obtaining any consent required from meeting participants before recording. We accept no liability for recordings made unlawfully.
Acceptable use
Do not use MindLake to publish content that is unlawful, that infringes others’ intellectual property or privacy, or that contains malware, spam or phishing. Do not attempt to disrupt the service, probe other users’ content, or circumvent publishing limits or password protection.
Reports and takedowns
If you believe a published note infringes your rights or breaks these terms, email hello@mindlake.appwith the note’s address and the reason. We review reports promptly and may remove content, revoke publish tokens, or suspend publishing for repeat or serious abuse. We may also remove content where the law requires it.
Availability and warranty
The service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not guarantee that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that published notes will remain available. Keep your own copies: your vault is the source of truth, not our servers.
Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profits, or loss of data arising from your use of the service. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you have paid us for the service in the twelve months before the claim.
Ending things
You can stop using MindLake at any time; unpublishing your notes removes them from the web. We may suspend or terminate access to the publishing service for material breach of these terms. Your local vault is unaffected by anything we do: it is yours, on your device.
Changes and governing law
We may update these terms as the product evolves; we will update the date above and, for significant changes, give notice on this site or by email. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, except where the law of your country of residence grants you mandatory consumer protections.
